The Hungarian Comics Association (Magyar Kepregény Szövetség) has organ­ised the Hungarian Comics Festival once a year since 2005. In addi­tion to Hungarian artists, it also always includes inter­na­tion­al artists (Finnish, Estonian, Dutch, etc.). The comics pre­sent­ed here range from main­stream to alter­na­tive, which has also made them a pop­u­lar venue for sale and exchange. The fes­ti­val also awards the high­ly soughtafter Alfabéta Prize in a vari­ety of categories.
